Matt Forrest received his BFA from Slippery Rock University (Slippery Rock, PA, 2005) and his MFA from West Virginia University (Morgantown, WV, 2008). He had worked on the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA at Artists Image Resource as associate printer for 10 years. He then worked for a number of local universities, such as Carnegie Mellon University as printmaking and metals technician and as faculty at CMU, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania teaching printmaking, drawing, and outreach classes in art.
During Matt’s time in Pittsburgh, he also ran several outreach projects with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. Through this research, Matt has built a number of prototype tactile learning mechanisms for students to feel different vibrations in their school curriculum. Currently, he has expanded working with students with disabilities by integrating tactile art practices for the visually impaired. Matt continues to work with various outreach groups including the Georgia Academy for the Blind in Macon, GA.
Matt is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA, where he teaches printmaking, digital art, and 2D foundations.
